Default A Questioning Concerning Characters

So, I have been working on a top secret series for a long time. Built in a dark fantasy world I created, it will in the end hopefully have a lot of books and be as big as Warhammer or DnD books. Vast stories, in the same world, with vast kingdoms, and a vast world alternative to ours.

However, the first three books in my series I have come to the realization that in Book two I only really care about two of the characters.

In book One the story follows four characters. It's an ensemble cast. In Book two only two of the characters of Book One actually come back into this book. There is the Nephew of the character and the Uncle of Book One.

But I only seem to realize as I right Book two, I want to get quickly to the two characters I do like, Ignis and Knives. I really don't care about the other characters.

Should I in book Two break the tradition of Book One and follow only the Two characters Knives and Ignis?

With mini intermission chapters of what the other characters are up to?

Hooray, hurrah it's Clyde and he'll smite you down. With clever wordplay.

Be warned....my greatest weapon is *takes out of holster* the ignore button.
