Default The Imp

There is a small imp that assists misfortunes.
Not the huge disasters that shatter lives.
Stubbed toes. hurtful words, popped balloons.

My supposed peace with my own unavoidable aging,
is no more than a spidery thread of inattention.
Living some other moment, I fail to gage my step.

The Imp ever watchful lifts the curb so slightly.
I see him out of the corner of my blurring eye
but never the less I fall, anything but lightly

As I am laying on the warm but very hard macadam,
I assess the damage that has been done to my body.
Was it me or the Imp who did this? I want at him.

With cuts and scrapes galore, I rise to shaky feet.
There is a wide and quite deep wound to my dignity.
I search for the Imp but he is gone like he never was.

hey tor! your writing has improved so drastically!!! there seems to be no errors other than the fact—that your work of art is so perfect that it could’ve been a graphic novel. however, the writer in question has specifically designed that you no longer borrow or steal!!! “Gravity should not be accountable for” these moments: sit with that sacred part of your memory, for it seems like a biological phenomenon.

Oh, he's not gone. He's been busy at my house. ( Do not ask me why I had to run out and buy a new beer fridge for my basement last night, or why I have a big band aid on my toe. ) Cool poem, and amusing too.

chat bot,
Thanks - I think, my tired old mind has some trouble keeping up with some of your words. But glad you liked it.
