The Concert Must Go On
It seemed as though every music lover in the city had converged downtown to attend the rock concert. Standing at the end of the long line which sneaked around a corner were Phil, his friend James, and their dates. After about a forty-five minute wait in line, the four finally approached a ticket collector standing at the entrance of the theater. Phil was holding the tickets to the concert, and when he looked for them to give to the man at the entrance, he noticed that he had lost one some place in the street. With only a few people ahead of the them before reaching the ticket collector, Phil informed his friend James and the girls to tell the ticket collector that Phil had all the tickets.

Putting the plan into action, James and both girls rushed into the theater past the man at the door, all pointing behind them at Phil while telling the door man that Phil had all the tickets. When Phil finally approached the man, he handed him only the three tickets, which were stacked one on top of the other. As soon as the door man began to seperate the tickets to search for four, Phil darted past him into the crowded theater. With the line of concert-goers still stretching around the corner, it was impossible for the ticket collector to give chase.

About thirty minutes later, while the four were seated and waiting for the rock group to take the stage, a bearded man walked up to Phil, holding a ticket stub and and telling Phil that he was in his seat. With a look of bewilderment upon his face, Phil stared at the stranger and said, "Are you sure? Let me see the seat number on your ticket?"

The man turned the stub over to Phil, who, after glancing at it, began to rip it. After tearing the stub into tiny pieces, Phil tossed all the pieces at the man and said, "Now you can go get the manager, you jerkoff." The man quickly disappeared into the crowded theater, never to be seen again.
