Run-on (fused) Sentence
Run-on (or fused) Sentence
A sentence in which two or more sentences are incorrectly joined, or fused, together.
I didn't like what he said it was mean is a run-on sentence. This can be broken up into two sentences: I didn't like what he said and it was mean by either using a period after the first clause or placing a semicolon between them.
I didn't like what he said. It was mean.
I didn't like what he said; it was mean.
Don't let run-on sentences get away. Rein them in with the proper punctuation.
