Default Greetings from Vermont

For the better part of the last three years, I was unemployed. So with nothing better to do and living with someone I loved for that amount of time, I spent lots of time just writing. Writing nonstop. My output in the past three years was greater than all of the times I sat down to write in the entirety of my life combined.

Recently, I went through a break up and I made the decision to leave Salem, Mass, where I was living for the past seven years. I'm now back in my hometown of Bennington, Vermont and I'm working hard to get all of my ducks lined up.

I went almost two weeks writing nothing more than entries in my blog. But the blog is like a mild fiber supplement when what I needed was a weapons grade enema.

Now I'm getting back into focusing on my fiction both long and short. I like short stories, flash fiction, novels and novellas.

My favorite authors include Neil Gaiman, Frank Stockton, Shirley Jackson, and many others.

I Write Because If I Did Anything Else With The Ideas In My Head, I'd Go To Prison

You're my kind of newbie

Write lots.

Drift around the corridors and engage in idle but charming chat.

Enjoy the Beat.

Early indications suggest we're going to enjoy you. x

Hey! Welcome!

Post some short fiction and we'll tell you if you're any good...

Heh, just kidding. WE have no idea.😀

We'll probably read it though, and point out any typos.

Wow, a legitimate newcomer. what a rarity.

Welcome to our little corner of the internet. Not much anymore, mostly just embers of a fire long ago extinguished. Even now, those embers are fading. But we hold on. Perhaps someday those embers will catch flame once again.

It's the best place around, and oldies (referring to your seniority as a forum user, not age) like Brian Patrick and Grace Gabriel make the place feel like a second home of sorts. The community (What's left, anyway) is nice, but not very biased. I look forward to seeing you around.

Welcome! Take a seat, have a cuppa, grab a cookie, and enjoy the show!
Show me someone who is not afraid of death, and I'll show you a fucking liar!

(and with that the goblin showed up saying "...welcome human if I may be so bold as to call you one now...", thinking that that sounded about right then, and that he was out of practice in doing these welcomes too, then adding "...no, there must be something wrong with me, I mean everyone else wants reality, just "keep it real" they keep saying, and yet my dull dailylife is my reality and while I'm there I'm stuck in the midst of its mundaneness I'm ever so yearning for this forum again and its fiction between us...", to which the goblin fed up with rolling out a the same old welcoming red carpet dipped his hand into his pocket and pulled out an enormous welcoming red bathtub instead, saying "...no, no not to clean yourself with, I mean I wasn't inferring to anything like as in that way then, no instead I only thought that you might care to float in it while looking at that moon above for its all too elusive plot therein, who knows I mean many hours or many moons later you might remember me smiling in this fiction here when you're famous that is, yet that was ever our choices between us...")
