Default Are page breaks really necessary?

Hi folks.

I'm working on an action scene told from five different points-of-view. Three in vehicles and two outside the vehicles.

What concerns me is having to use constant page breaks whenever I 'cut' inside and out. If I did that I would end up with a chapter that is replete with page breaks. Is not the modern reader sophisticated enough to follow the action without the need for such page breaks?

What do you think?

If you can do it properly without page breaks then you don't need them, but I personally prefer page breaks. It allows you to sort through the action segments better, also, if you screw it up you could leave the reader confused if you lack page breaks.

Thanks for the response Error69. I was beginning to think I was being ignored.

I think I may need to set certain parameters. That when the characters are far apart I will use page breaks, then when they are close together I could just lose the page break and hope no-one notices. I guess.

If they're all close together, like, for instance, three people fighting together against a bunch of enemies. Then I think that a lack of line breaks is just fine. But yeah, when they're far apart, then I feel that line breaks are necessary.
