Default The Cave Ghost

Blame the oxygen. A few hundred feet down the carbon monoxide goes up and the oxygen down. Way down. To hallucinate is normal. Jaco has to expect as much, but when everyone has the same hallucination, no matter when they make the climb or with whom, then that's the skin off a different crawdad.
They say her name is Nina, but she never came right out and told any of the climbers, "hey, my name is Nina." I think after a while Jaco started connecting the dots. Said that if there really was a girl in there then she probably died down there. "Maybe even her body's still there and she's trying to find her way to Jesus."
Jaco started digging around in old newspapers--the old crap on micofiche that they keep in the basement of the library. It took him about a week of reading and trading blowjobs with homeless men in the John before he found the article. All the article said is that she went missing and no one ever knew what happened to her. Her mama missed her something awful, but the article was written in 1959, so there's a really good chance her mama's dead now.
She could have died of natural causes down in the cave--even carbon monoxide poisoning, but Jeff had a theory that some of the local teenage boys took turns raping her and then they sliced her from tits down to her anus.
Of course, you never could see the image too good when the ghost appeared. Like a picture in an old television set, fading slowly. If it weren't for the fact that everyone saw her at different times, it's easy enough to say, "hey you're hallucinating..." But after a while it's like everyone fine the same needle in the same haystack. After a while it's just not coincidence anymore.
So, Jeff's the first one to call her Nina to her face. And when he did, she dropped to her knees like she was aiming to suck him, but he ended up passing out instead. And by the time Kevin drug his fat ass to the surface, he had frostbite on his dick. Gotta be careful about trying to stick it in a ghost, because even when they make ya feel like they really want it, they're still not really there. And at the end of the day, you're just trying to help her make her peace with things. Ya gotta tell her "hey, go to the light," because ghosts really need to hear that shit.
But I don't guess she ever go the message, because she never went.
Now, we're fixing to try and catch her. It's in this lead box with this magnetic liner. Don't know what we'll do with her once we get her. Maybe try to get her on a tv show or something. See if Geraldo Rivera is ready for another special. Then, we'd open that shit on live TV.
But we could also maybe track down her killer if he's still alive on live television. Cause Nina could probably testify, if you brought the little box before the judge. But we're really getting ahead of ourselves. Right now, we gotta go find her.

Why the text block?

There could be more suspense here. If you describe people emerging from a cave in a state of terror or with injuries not normally sustained while caving, then bring in the dead girl later, that's much more intriguing than telling us about her so early.
