Default The torch

A blazing solstice,
Ignites the dormant flame.
We triumphantly flare,
Into festive being.

A fiery fall,
Burns prouder than ever
The inferno drives us,
Dancing to the max.

A glowing winter,
Smothers the blaze to embers.
Yet our rebirth has been sown,
In heated passion.

A scorching spring,
Rekindles the torch.
With a searing rush,
We charge, future bound.

A roaring return,
To summer’s peak.
We burst into the final light,
And set the floor on fire.

A brilliant spectacle,
Of light and flame,
Concludes with a storm.
We bow, and carry the torch away.

Is my favorite stanza...makes me think of the hot Texas summer nights out with the girls. Music thumping...hips grinding. Ah the memories.

I think this makes for a great metaphor and a great opening. I love the use of fire throughout the piece, makes for great emotion and vivid imagery.

And I absolutely love the last line:

This is really good, beautiful imagery and I liked many of the word choices. Only thing I didn't like was the punctuation, many line-end commas aren't necessary, and make me pause longer than the poem really needs. It broke the flow too much.
