Even if you go to the one or two writing sites that are busy now -- the areas for writers who have a snowball's chance in hell of reaching some wider audience aren't much busier than this -- or it's just a bunch of people patting themselves on the back.
Sad to say -- but I think the days of the fairly serious writing site are over...

How about we organise some day trips? Fresh air and a change of scene.
We could pick a site, synchronise joining it en masse, and then descend on it for twenty four hours like a bunch of marauding Vikings. Flood it with rhymes, commentary, crit, post new ridiculous threads, cause some arguments....
We could make it competitive - the first three to get banned are the winners.
Just amuses me to think of some backwater site suddenly being inundated with a bunch of hooligan newbies who arrive and leave like a whirlwind.
Think of it as a team building exercise or a learning based project....
