Default Great Britain is Number 1

Congrats to Great "Britain on claiming the number one spot worldwide. For those that haven't heard according to the lastest world census Great Britain is now the nummber 1 fattest country in the world per capita. The U.S. has fallen to number 2.

And to think the Olympics will be held in the fattest nation on earth! You fatties rock!

So does that mean Americans are getting thinner, or the English are getting fatter?

I'd love to know where Canada is on that list. Nearly all the parents of my students appear to be overweight,

I've seen Man vs Food, portions in the UK aren't anywhere near as big as in the US. I think Gaines made it up.

I'm waiting until I read it on the BBC. Gaines probably heard it on Fox News.

That's a good point. If Fox News said it then it's probably all biased, propaganda and isn't even true.

Well, I split my time almost evenly between the two countries and I don't care what that census says:
America is still the fattest!

(That aside, I saw another census that says Mexicans are the fattest.)

And it's not just that we Americans have more fat people, but our fat people are bigger.
Like Brits and Canadians get sheepishly chubby...
But Americans get comically, obnoxiously, OBESE!

(Mind you, I'm not exactly a string bean myself. I should be out jogging instead of sitting here ragging on my slightly heavier counterparts. )

lol actually if kids clothes sizes are anything to go by ... My kids are normal healthy size for their height and slightly on the tall size. They have to wear trousers on the short side or have ones that fall down even when they are on the tightest of the adjustable sizes.

I did notice they've started selling trays of fifteen doughnuts in sainsbury's now, needless to say I bught one so we can hold our title. I blame Kebab shop owners tbh, there's one on every corner now.

Wait, so we went from having 23% adult obesity to over 30% in less than two years?

See, it's because Jamie left to go teach the Americans how to cry.

If it's done by % then of course we will be higher, but if you compare the actual numbers I bet it's the America that is highest!

Lorry, I love that show! However, most Americans don't eat it like that.

America is still fat, though. But I have heard that the people of European countries, such as Great Britain, are becoming fatter.

Who takes these surveys? I don't believe the people of the UK are fatter than the US on average. The yanks are massive.

Yeah but we have a very good reason the blubber is needed to keep from freezing - seriously though Scotland at least further North has improved over the last 20 years I can now go into a chippy and be asked if I want my burger in a bun battered and deep fried rather than assuming it lol It has been about ten years since I have seen either of these.

We are getting fatter, without a doubt, as a kid there was only ever one fat kid in each class, and their nickname was either 'fat (insert name here)' or something that referred to their weight, now half the kids in each class are fat...

I personally think we've still got a little way to go to catch up with the US, though, and the World Health Organisation 2010 statistics back me up on that, with America being the 8th fattest nation in the world, and the UK being somewhere between the top 10 and top 20, I think.....

Right now as I write this 7,405 Brits are entering the fat catagory. Why? Stop eating the squirrels!

That would be true, since we lose weight while we sleep and you wrote it just about breakfast time, when we were waking up and starting to eat.

Not me thought I had yoghurt. A 'Full English Breakfast' is a once every six month occurencein our house, on account of I make so much people can't eat for so long afterwards.

It's a heath risk for sure. I never go to Walmart around the 3rd of the month for fear of getting trampled.
