Default Stuck for ideas

I've started writing a story about a wood, but I have no ideas whatsoever what's going to happen in the wood.

I need a bit of help coming up with ideas please (nothing too creepy - will be letting my younger brother read it)

Thanks in advance all.

It's hard to really just "give" someone a story plot with only the setting chosen so far, but by just googling different woods--looking at photographs, reading news stories, etc.--can give you some good inspiration to write something up for it

Good luck!

Be careful - if someone gives you a cracking idea, you write a best seller and make millions - they may come looking for their share

They won't get far - there's no copyright on ideas.

I can think of some really creepy woods stories, but not any not-very-creepy woods stories.
If you want a not-very-creepy-but-still-kind-of-creepy story, try modernizing a fairy tale; most of them take place in the woods, because most of Europe was woods at the time they were written. How about updating Hansel and Gretel?

Or Google the term "Slender Man"... the Slender Man is an urban legend deliberately invented last year (they had a contest, "Invent your own urban legend" or something on the forum called SomethingAwful.com; Slender Man won).

But somehow Slender Man got away from his creators and became a real urban legend (and perhaps a real entity, as well?)
Thousands of people all over the internet have been writing about the Slender Man.
Slender Man sightings are becoming more common than Elvis sightings.
Seriously, Google "Slender Man" and read about him; look at the pictures.

To me, it's a fascinating study in how powerful our minds are; we can create things like this, and with a tool like the internet for mass dissemination of our ideas, we can almost make them real, if we can make enough other people believe that they're real.
Or maybe we actually can make them real.

Here you go: write about this for your little brother.
