My question: In a music industry that relies heavily on looks, would someone like Modern English's Robbie Grey, or Tom Petty get a fair shot today?

Robbie Grey is literally from just up the road from where I live. Colcherster.
I mean generally people tend to focus on the music rather then the looks surely.
These types of characters and music is more for the slightly older generation rather then teenagers.

Men only wear trousers. There is no harm in experimenting with women clothing. It is fun and it is an idea.
I am not saying to wear them on a daily basis.
Are you suggesting I wear skinny pants? For shame, Nacia! If I did, women may flatter me to my face for being "progressive", but they would secretly ridicule me behind my back for being a pussy.

I've found women LOVE masculine guys, even though they constantly complain about them. And they claim to love "progressive", "feminist" guys, but then bitch about how wussy they are when they're not around.

Actions speaker louder than words, don't they?

Funny how some people think their perceptions and limited experiences amount to universal truths.

Take a look at the guys mentioned in the OP. That might answer your question.

You do have a good point, in this instance. Didn't this guy used to work for Mad Magazine and say "What, Me Worry?"

Nonsense. Some women are attracted to a man based on more overtly masculine traits, others are attracted to a man based on other qualities that make them good partners. More often, it's a mix of the two in different measures.

You are generalizing to ridiculous degree. Based on what, I don't know; probably some perception you have of yourself or some other kind of wishful thinking.

And then there's your arrogance in assuming that when a woman tells you what she finds attractive, she's lying.

I can't begin to take any of it seriously.

I'm assuming your a guy here. I don't know. But if so, how many dates do you get? A woman's actions always outweigh her opinions or what she thinks she thinks. An Axl Rose will always be 10 times more attractive than an Ed Sheeran, even though he's such a "nice guy" and Axl's a complete douche.

I don't worry about how many dates I get. I've been married for over 16 years and I was in all kinds of relationships of varying lengths before that.

But that question alone gives me a good idea of where your thinking is on all this; not so deep and based on limited experience.

That you're framing up an understanding of relationships and what people find attractive based on the perceived lives pop and rock stars says a whole lot too; and it's not good...

But how hot were they, and how hot was the one you ended up with?

Attractive women usually don't come easy, except to the sexualized male.

Ha ha ha!

How hot were they? What should I do, post pictures?

Either you're a kid, or you're at some stage of arrested development...

Or I'm just beyond the feminized culture that claims us men should look at women as "people", instead of looking at them as "sex objects".

C'mon man, it's written in our natures; women with cute faces (big eyes and smaller features) and a pronounced bust to waist to hip ratio are what we universally find attractive.

I make no excuses for finding fat and ugly chicks unattractive. But some people commit to them for presumably their lives. I would rather live alone than condemn myself to a ball and chain of misery like that.

But to each their own, I guess.

You're not beyond anything.

Most people come to a realistic conclusion; either consciously or subconsciously; that there is a level of attractiveness, as far as looks are concerned, combined with other factors that will make them attractive as a partner. That's who they will seek out and who they will end up with. That's where they will find contentment.

That's the way it works for people who have any kind of self awareness, so good luck, buddy.

What is a fantasy world?

Where all hot chicks go for mediocre guys cause they're decent guys?

Guys like that boybott fatties or ugs.

It takes something a little more to get and secure the hotties.

What is that, I wonder.

Are you trying to tell me that you've NEVER seen two people who aren't conventionally attractive in a good relationship where each of them are content with how they look to each other?

If not, you have have a problem.

Here's an idea. Find someone and be in a relationship where you both want to make a life with each other. Go through some shit together and then come out the other side and still be in love and attracted to each other. That's reality.

Again, that you're considering this from the perspective of "getting dates" shows you haven't gotten past that.

Grow up and get back to me.

Konan, an online persona is a projection of the inner you - not a fictional character.

In one thread you talk about "us women" - in another you're laying out a male perspective of what's attractive in a female.

I don't care if you're Arthur or Martha but your penis fixation and sodomy jibes at City aren't mature, male banter. You're either a lesbian with cock envy or a homosexual in denial.

Doesn't matter if you haven't figured out your own orientation, doesn't matter if you're a fucked-up teenager. Doesn't matter if you're the 'Kaylee' in your story that you so desperately want us to empathise with.

All the posturing makes the Konan persona look an ignorant twat. A shame when there's talent and somebody far more interesting and worthwhile hiding behind it.

I like the occasional flashes of you.

I believe the time has finally arrived for the removal of the words "Intellectual Table." I mean, give it a moment's thought.

EDIT: Misread what Cityboy was saying at first.

Nah, I think questioning why male singers all sound like wimps today is an "intellectual" topic.

Also, too bad Myers hasn't been around lately.

I bet he'd have something to contribute to this topic.

Pussies? There were some girls on my block who would smack you around, take your lunch money, and send you home crying to mommy.

LOL why not?? I would if I was a bloke. I mean it is all about the experiment and the fun. I say there is nothing wrong with that trust me

I get what you are saying haha. I don't even know what a masculine guy is.
I Know they probably mean muscly guys.
I think it is immaturity and the media.
The real guy for me is someone who is both feminine and masculine and is not scared or worried about getting the balance between the two.
You have to be true to yourself and women in the end do like that.

Actions speaker louder than words, don't they?
Yeah but life is an experiment and we have to try what appeal to us and not worry about what others think.

The very first time I've seen this observation. It's all rather ironic, is it not?
