Default Character Clinics - Rules and Guidelines

The purpose of Character Clinics is to help you flesh out the traits and personalities of your characters. Here, your characters rule the boards. They tell members who they are and what they are about, and you are naught but a pawn for their musings.

Before you start, however, there are some rules and guidelines you need to know.
  • Posting rules—The same rule applies for posting characters as posting stories: No more than one per day, three per week. This way, everyone's character has a chance at being seen, and everyone has a fair chance at getting as much help as they need.
  • One character per thread—If your character has a twin, wait until the next day to post his/her thread, then both characters will have an equal chance at getting help from members.
  • Foul-mouthed characters—If your character is an excessive swearer and/or abusive, do not let that trait rule their post (see Behavior Guidelines). If your character is aggressive, let him show us in the post, but under no circumstances should that abusiveness be directed toward other members on the boards. Other characters in your story, yes; members, no. Any infraction of this rule will result in a prompt deletion of the character's thread and a short ban from Character Clinics.
  • No one-liners—Members are neither mind readers, nor here to create a character for you, but to help flesh out existing characters. State as much as you can about your character in your character thread; in other words, make the character introduction post as detailed as possible, and members will ask questions as needed to aid you along in your character's development.
Now that you know what you can't or shouldn't do, on to what you can and should do.
