Default Cascading Hiaku

Cascade
Cold winds sweep the ground
Teasing sleeping life spring warms
My heart wants meaning

Growth pushes husks aside
Summer frantic knows nothing
Snake basks on hot stones

All slows in aging
Fall banks today for what comes
Cocoons safe harbor

Boney fingers grasp
Hopeless winter creeps forward
A dead seed just waits.

a bleak image follows
a bleak image
from each bleak season,
and winter is death.

Sink into the grass

Give your body to the Earth

You will wake again

My penis itches

Maybe it’s an STD

Or the laundry soap

Last time it rained half as hard as now the shower ceiling fell in

Two days ago I rolled the ancient tarpaper roof with water repellent paint

Resignedly I sit in a Friday afternoon hoping the sun is the only thing that goes down

glad you liked Box. An old man is surprised and pleased when he is seen as eclectic.

You forgot to note that chit-chat called you “baller.”

That’s an extreme compliment with the young’ins.

Now, if she called you Versace, that would be above “baller.”

Well that probably finished me with the obsolete police. they have been watching me already and not knowing those terms - that is the proof.

Rain falls in sheets
With thunderclaps
And soft-shoe beats
And soft drum-taps

Hmm... I have a child your age. She doesn’t write as well as you, but her younger sister does. My son is also a writer. He’s 14. Shows promise.

You’re a funny little goose, chit-chat. An enigma.
