When I turn the lights out,
As I live in all his lies—
It just doesn’t come about
To the movies, the way time flies;
I knew what I wanted to do—
—But then, doesn’t everyone?
I’ve got nowhere to run to,
And I’m thinking that he’s won;—
My face is hurt from smiling hard;
I don’t really mean to say what I say,
And it sucks to always be on guard,—
Than have to relive yesterday—
I hate the way I live inside of him;—
Every day bursts with hate and mean words
We had to go out last night, on his whim.—
His voice, my voice; it cuts like swords;
This time, the birds will use the wait,—
I can do this, a little while, a little longer—
A sparrow keeping me up, though it’s late—
"What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger".
I’m done for now, like the best of Giza,
Such ardor for a tyke my size—
Might and power are made by taking in the vista,
Maybe, I'll yell louder, he’ll see through my guise.
