Default Autumn Contest: Smiles - Comment

If you have any comments on either Contest (Prose/Poetry) or any of the entries then please leave them here. Please encourage and help fellow writers by sharing your thoughts here.

If you have entered the contest and see a comment here that makes you want to change your entry, please don't! Editing after you've posted will disqualify your work. The staff is happy to make minor spelling or spacing corrections for you, but significantly changing your piece after you submit it isn't fair to other people.

Thanks!

Interesting interesting.

I have a single image in my mind to work from. We will see where that goes.

hello all,

i previously suggested a idea for "complete the story" competition.

there was someone who suggested the "writer of the month" contest as well.

How is this relevant to the Autumn Contest?

Also...
SW your entry is AMAZING.

5teve - I do believe you can enter all you like; although I'm not an official word on this, I'd say go for it before it's too late!

It's always worth the try... and hey, if you can't ultimately enter, it's something you can always use for something else, yes?

I'm entered.

I had to miss the last one due to uni and the usual life rubbish. It's great to be involved in another one. There's some top entries in there. Good luck everybody.

The contests are open to all members, including the ones who have won in the past and those who've suggested themes.

just finished the final edits and posted. If it had turned out that I wasn't allowed to enter I would still have been proud to finally overcome the writer's block that had plagued me for the last couple months.

Oh btw, Chalant, your entry into the competition is dirty (good)

I don't want to be a pain... But my contest entry and name are both spelt wrong in the prose voting thread. I understand these things get typed up quickly but I'd appreciate them being spelt right.

I don't see it, but it's probably because they've fixed it already or something.

Anyway, thanks Tau for being so sharp on the deadline!

I'm reading through, even taking notes, in preparation for voting.

I was initally sceptical of the long voting period, but looking at the current amount of votes... yes, I see the point!

Plus the slightly longer voting time gives people time to still find time to read despite the general mayhem in the western world at this time of year

The contest has already closed, but you can read the entries in their threads, and vote on which three from each category you liked the most.

Hey, Amateur_Writer. The deadline of this contest was December 15th - you can still vote until the 27th in these threads, though:

Voting 1
Voting 2
Voting 3
Voting 4

Every season, there is a new contest you can participate in, either with prose or poetry. These two threads explain the rules of the contests:

Prose
Poetry

Enjoy!

Edit: Tau, you beat me

I've read some good work in this current contest.
Well done to everyone who entered. I've voted already.
Now all I can do is wait for others to hurry and vote (while desperatly hoping I remain in the lead for the poetry contest!)

EDIT: Yes I voted for myself but only on the poetry!

You voted for yourself? Hahaha. I didn't know we could.

EDIT: That probably sounds mean, I don't mean it like that. I find it funny. Hahaha.

Yep, you can vote for yourself, but it's also a public vote. It's not discouraged or encouraged, just that everyone knows who voted what (a personal view, that is).
