So wait... I read it and you guys don't publish novels? I don't know... I would think that would give you guys more readers. You publish a chapter each issue and the people who like it keep coming back so you get a fan base on a novel who want to see how it ends so they keep downloading it

We publish only the best in short fiction, poetry and artwork. There is infinite skill and perfection in creating a story that will capture the reader and take them on a thrilling journey in only limited number of words. Not everyone can do it.

And for the reader there is total satisfaction in picking up our magazine and being able to enjoy a complete story in one sitting.

Not to say that it will happen but if you are published in the Oddville Press do you retain the rights to the story or does the Oddville Press get the rights? I am just curious.
I agree with your post it is difficult to take a person on a journey in a few words but is possible. I believe myself that if you can make a person feel something after reading your story you have achieved a good story.Whether this be good or bad as long as the person comes away from the story feeling something the writer has fulfilled there purpose. I do not mean shaking there heads womndering what the hell the person was saying I mean genuine wow I felt for that person or object in the story.

Don't forget our doors are open for submissions.

Our first acceptances have been confimed, but we're still looking for more, more great fiction, poetry and artwork to kick off Issue #1 of the relaunch.

How long does Oddville hold onto the rights?

Thanks, Red.

Hey, Joe . . . I never thought I'd see that clean of a vintage Technotron Tech 2000. It was slow as molasses, but built like a tank.

Excellent! It's about time you sent out some of your writing.

I'd love to sub one of mine but I don't think the Oddville guys would appreciate it. Not exactly literary, oops.

Just as a random curious aside. A lot of mags ask for rights for the first three months from publication. That means people cant use the story until after that time period. Are you guys doing that?

Assuming the magazine keeps to a quarterly timetable, we'd reasonably expect first publishing right to last the lifespan of an issue, which would be 3 months.
