Default Writer's Beat or...

Writers' Beat?

I prefer the latter.
Obviously, I've got too much time to think about it, but the second way seems more accurate as a description of these forums.

Anyone else agree? Or care?

(probably setting up myself for a fall by asking that, haha.)

I think 'Writer's Beat' describes it pretty well: the beat of the writer, the beat where the writer roams. And 'writer' can be seen either as a single writer, or as a term used to speak about writers in general.

My two cents

If it refers to more than one writer, it would be writers' beat.

Well, there's technically also that "The" tossed in there. "The Writer's Beat." It's pretty general regardless of apostrophe placement

I always sort of imagined Daniel Fischer starting it up all on his lonesome, and so at that time it was one writer's beat. Happily, lots of other writers joined!

It's the writer's beat in the sense of a policeman's beat: The regular or habitual path that the proverbial policeman (or writer as the case may be) travels along.

This forum is merely a path for a writer, any writer, to travel down on their personal journey. While we may intermingle with eachother along this path, we are ultimately walking by ourselves, each one independent from the next.

It's all very zen.

I don't mind. I think I prefer "writer's". I don't know why.

At least there is an apostrophe in there. Imagine if there wasn't - on a writing forum

If there wasn't...well, that would not be very good! It would be quite embarrassing, actually.

Happy Writing!
