Default Up Pinhead

Sashes of the Times—
Infinitude Applique—
Donned at the Party
Then, flung aside—
Like a crystal,—
Like fraud and women—
Or a faded pearl!
Who can withstand
Save Mature girls?
Words without me,
Never to paradise flow.
These words go up!
Reprieve at Night
The earth from spinning,
The Sun from shining—
Natural—those few men—
Reprieve at noon—
Again—fumes—
And life goes on—
A strange invention.—

Quite like this. No, I do like this. Except for the punctuation which seems arbitrary, and why all the - too much Emily D me thinks.

Yes -- I'm in love with em dashes too.

I order them by the case and use them liberally.

Nope. Sorry. Nobody is taking my crown as reigning queen of ridiculous amount of dashes in a paragraph...just can't help myself.

Bot, this was a far superior version of 'Up pinhead' than the three word offering! Good on yer girl x

I really enjoyed reading this, and it took me somewhere. But something about this was too elusive for me. Then again, I never got any dates when young because I couldn't read signals. Women had to talk to my friends and explicitly tell them "I'm interested in him. Please inform him". Explains the lonely youth. Anyway, sorry Chat. I'm not completely getting it. Which also reminds me of my youth.

When I was in my early twenties I rented a room from a band mate who was a queer. One night while sitting in an bar together, the woman I would marry walked in. I have a vivid picture of her then, still.

We three hung out and played music together and according to her she threw herself at me with everything she had.

One night, sitting in a VW bus with my roommate she said: "you know when you really like someone—I mean REALLY like someone but your not sure if it will ever work out?"

Chris said: "oh honey... I'm really REALLY gay."

And she said: "not you you idiot, I'm talking about Tim!"

Chris said: "oh gawd... I'm so glad. And Tim? Yeah, he TOTALLY digs you!"
