Love Had a 1, 2, Step
Love Had a 1, 2, Step

Slow-dancing by a cruise-ship on a night like this was beautiful and lovelier than a flower being blossomed in the rain. Two honeymooners took their time with their hours leaving the dance floor as they reflected on something more than just the step to their feet.
“You see those two dancing over there, they’ve got a routine.” said Josephine.
“We obviously dance better than them.”
“We’re the competitive type I cannot deny that.” replied Josephine satisfied of her man and the attention they gave.
After another song had played, the other two couples on the cruise-ship without a doubt went overboard and did some intricate and rather hard to do moves to get the other couples Anton and Josephine to wonder about their love life.
“I think about us.”
Anton reaches for her handle on a white table-cloth table with her hand on his hand.
“Yeah honey, since this is us, and this love we cherish here on this cruiser is for us--”
“No um-- I wonder about us, I thought about that routine those two couples were doing-”
“We do it better don’t you worry--”
“Look how they impress the other crowds here, they have style, they have grace, in the end its our love and what we will do in the future that counts.”
“The future? Honey that is something else!” said Josephine. “I get competitive when it comes to this type of dance-routine thing, we may not have a style of our own don’t get me wrong, but…”
“What’s important is that we are together and this honeymoon is a plus.”
The couples started coming towards them to have a seat by two empty brass chairs.
“Hi.” said Anton waving a hand.
“What do you mean a plus?”
“Can we talk about this later?” said Anton muttering in her ear.
The two asked about if they were willing to try again to a competition next hour.
“You two never get tired huh?” said Anton
“Josephine dear, eat that last spring roll, its getting cold.”
“Howdah know I was hungry?”
As the night drew in the sunrise, Anton smirked and laughed at the idea of seeing them again. But he needed the approval of Josephine to ever having them around like a dog to a playpen ever.
“What’s your favourite thing in the whole wide world?” asked Anton.
“You know that one.” she replied.
“I’ll give you anything you desire on earth if you do me a little favour.”
“Would you mind if I invite the other couples we just danced alongside with over to our apartment when the time is right, say yes I’m crossing my fingers.”
He did just that and closed his eyes hoping for a miracle.
“No!” she exclaimed. “And in fact I want to have a little chat with these bimbos over here.”
The sun was about to rise and Josephine was still chatting with them.
“You know what, and that is not happening got it?”
Anton yawned with drool over his mouth.
“Wait, What? We didn’t even go back to our rooms?!”
He noticed her babbling.
“What? Are you really still chatting? They already left dear.”
“I’m still on a roll.”
Anton wiped the drool off his mouth and picked Josephine up to take her into their rooms to sleep it off till the afternoon.
“I want to dance! Can we still dance?”
“Cmon’.” he replied. “I should in fact tell the captain to take us home, I know you’re a drill sergeant and everything, but I really don’t trust your instincts to be normal for once in your life, I want you to know that we have class and its better to tell you since you probably know so, we can’t keep acting like we’re better than everyone, you know that right?”
