Icon7 Hi all, I'm Amanda!

I just wanted to post here to introduce myself a little bit. I've been writing for years for small things but actually just took on a much bigger project (fictional novel) which is a little scary but I'm excited! I like editing and giving constructive criticism and of course writing as well. I just finished my first year of college and am now taking a couple semesters off before going back again (studying pre med and political science). I have read from many, many different genres but I find that fantasy fiction is more what I'm into writing, at least at the moment, so that is what I'm currently working on! I'm very excited to receive constructive criticism and help other writers by critiquing their work as well

He mandapanda.

It's good that you're following your studies cause the road to independence as a writer is full of pot holes, washed out bridges and dead ends.

But keep the writing going because it may have more meaning to you than whatever you do to make money. But know that if you run into troubles you can have a decent life doing something else which puts food on the table.

I think you'll enjoy being a WB member. So welcome aboard.

Welcome, Amanda. What you should do is drop out of school, move to Memphis Tennessee and get a job as a waitress, and write during your breaks and off hours.

Or you could ignore this, and enjoy Writer's Beat...

I agree, but that's the wrong town. I doubt it has a vibrant artist and writer's colony. I think Lalaland, NYC or San Francisco would be better. wrc
