Default Chiasmus?

The form is interesting and actually fun to use. I'll definitely be keeping this in mind.

A parting of the ways;
An end to summer days,
Spent in repose
So long ago,
That I but scarce
remember
Them.

We
Shan’t forget
Our precious few
Antediluvian times,
Of peace sublime
That could not stay
As our lives diverged
In separate ways.

Glad you like it, 5teve! I got pretty excited when I first researched it. Apparently, whole books of the Bible (and the Book of Mormon, I'm told) are organized in chiasmus. I haven't checked that personally, but it's a cool idea.

I notice in this example, you use chiasmus of meaning, but you have an extra line in there, seven in the first half, eight in the second. Visually, the long lines tapering to short then back again show the form.

Lol! No... taboos usually don't attach themselves to obscure poetic forms. I am glad to see anyone playing with it, whether you do it traditionally or stretch it into something new.
