Default To... snort... with a look...

So... imagine you are sitting somewhere and listening in a conversation where one person is telling a story that you can only define as being pure B.S. but instead of having the opportunity to snortto show what you think of it with a vocalizationyou have to express that by "shooting" this person "a look".

For example: He shot Bob a <missing word here> look.

How would you go and do that?

I would probably say "a skeptical look" or "a disbelieving look" -- something like that. Or you could have the character raise an eyebrow as they look at the person; that usually works to express disbelief/incredulity.
