Default Guess the age...

What is the average age of the people on Writers Beat?

I'm still pretty new here, so not sure, but my guess would be most people on here are under 23 years old.

I have no idea if I'm correct or not..what would be your guess ?

A lot higher ... around 40!? Guess the younger people just post more ...
and the older people have realized that long posts stand out like a sore thumb.

It is the age of 140-character banalities ...

Most frequent posters on here tend to be over 25 unlike most writing forums I do not feel like an old fart at 37. I'd guess it was around 28.

It is a mix reaction. Haha.
I think it is a wide range of ages. Language literature hides it well.

25+
There a small group of teens that post a lot, me being one of them.
On a side note did anyone else notice that most of the teens on here are homeschooled?

Wow, tahdas, you're a teenager too? I wouldn't have guessed--of course, I didn't guess Clever-fox was either...
I usually think everybody on this forum is about 30.

I think the median age is roughly thirty, thirty five. I feel like an absolute young'in at eighteen.

That's what I think... although I'm slightly older at 37, but a younger member can bring me down through the law of averages.

Do I detect a hint of cynicism from the OP?

I very much doubt that most of us are our "actual ages",
as we have so many people within ourselves.

I feel like a young whippersnapper hanging around here with my 15 years.
Not many teens are interested in writing enough in order to join a forum about it.

Is this a case of a lady never telling her age?

I would guess the average age is 45. I am 47 myself, having just turned so yesterday.

Yeah the current generation are mindnumingly stupid, in my opinion. The teenaged writers that I do know are mostly homeschooled.

You're not the only teen on here though, there's a quite a few of us (myself included).

Now that I disagree with - I know tons of non home educated writing kids and they are all really bright. (I'm currently taking sign ups to do my course).

what you should have said was "in my country", rather than "in my opinion".

I know truckloads of kids between 13 and 18, and very few of them are even slightly stupid. some are extremely bright, articulate, and talented. the majority are sound young people who know considerably more about the world, technology, science, and the arts than do their parents. suck on that
