Default Choose two companions

The good ship Writersbeat has finally sunk and you're washed up on an island with your keyboard still dripping in your hand.

Which two other Beat members would you want with you - and why?

I would choose Mohican - his compulsion to hunt and murder furry critters should secure some meals.

and BrianPatrick...

I like my creature comforts...I want a plumbed toilet

Mo would probably kill me the first week (before I could get the toilet in), leaving you two alone and commode-less. But, I would provide a fair bit of meat I suppose.

Who do I need to placate? I think I annoyed Mohican earlier with my unyielding wit and brilliance (oh, I just did it again) so him. He could help me build a tent or something. Obviously Nacia for her poetry readings, we would need some levity in a dismal situation.

Iím thinking Iíd need a breeding pair. To make a village and then civilization you need babies. So... bluewpc and chat bot.

They could make babies and I could organize them into a society.

No, you've not thought this through. Blue would drip blood everywhere from his manly eye gash and attract marauding beasts...

but Mo could shoot them and cook 'em..hmmm

BP, you're out. Just substituted you with Blue to sort out my holiday catering issue.

I'll take Nacia for her cheerfulness. She'd probably skip around the island picking flowers and getting a sun tan.

If she recites any of her poetry, she's going in the cooking pot.

Sorry Nacia...I get cranky when I'm hungry.

Yeah, sod Mohican, he needs a humour transplant. 3-2- self destruct mode cancelled.

I think Nacia would be fun. I think that Brian would attack my male dominance, like a stag in heat, desperately humping my leg, so probably him as well.

Blue knows Jujitsu, and heís some kind of South American mixed with European. Chit-Chat is asian and something else. That makes for really good babies genetically... stout.

I donít need company, Iím fine in my own head.

With Mo, youíd have to say Grace before every meal and shooting things requires a gun. Something that would probably sink in the ocean in the swim to shore.

Maybe he could make a bow and arrow?

You could gather wild mushrooms with Brian - he pops those like sweeties.

You might get more than snuggles Chin.

Nacia, do you skate?

I need an ice skate, in case I get tooth ache and need to perform Tom Hanks dentistry...

Difficult choice there and an excellent question.
Does it have to be two?

Well, as it's you Nacia, I'll double the amount....

But I need practical reasons why they're going with you.

So, my line up would be:

Konan (pyromania will be useful starting fires)

Nacia (primarily to breed with Konan)

Chin (schizophrenia...several personalities and talents in one body)

Nick Pierce (however shit it gets on the island, he'll be grateful.)

I am genuine here, I imagine Brian and I sitting on a beach. He slips his arm about my shoulders.

"Is this the end of everything?" I ask.

"No," says Brian, "it is the start of something beautiful."

....then Brian quickly learns to build a raft...

Ok

Firstly
I will take you Grace for there is grace in everything you say or do.
Much needed when tempers rise. Keep calm and carry because grace is ace.

Second
is Chin because his intellect he likes a challenge and sure shows interest in saying it how it is. Much needed when lack of motivation is due.

Thirdly and not least
Brian for his snappiness you never know what he is going to say next which keeps everyone on their toes. Much needed when feeling withdrawn or about to give up.

I am sure I can think of more.

Nacia darling - we're getting stuck on a desert island. You need to think survival tactics here - not tea party guests.

If City can fish and build houses out of banana leaves, he's coming...

Prod needs to be on the team - construction skills...not allowed any hookers though...too many mouths to feed.

If Chat and Blue are making babies, you're back on the team.

I can't cope with Chat's morning sickness without appropriate plumbing.

Oh come on, must I submit a CV? I know BJJ and I have a reasonable gene pool, alas more chlorine might have improved it, but it is free of frogs.

You guys are intent on breeding!

I want food and my house built!

Could you lay a brick as gleefully as you would lay Brian?

Both at once, I am a builder, sort of.

All jokes aside, I could make sweet love with Brian whilst building a wall.

Superb...

so I've got you as master builder

Brian as plumber and your love toy

and Nacia for the cooking pot (on the strength of writing poem about smelly people)

Excellent. How do you want your Nacia steak Chin? Medium rare or well done?

Don't be ridiculous - you wouldn't last a minute without me.

I'm the one who can cook and hold Brian down for you...
