Great issue. I'm always impressed by the WBQ. And jealous I don't get to join in.

Gwyn's household is mighty full. Kind of like Noah's ark without the frantic mating.

Great issue! Loved Gwyn's inverview I can definitely sympathize with the crashed computer problem. Happened to me more than once. Not. Fun.

And thanks for the shoutout ^_^

(We should take this outside to email.)

Really enjoying this issue! It'll take me some time to get through it all, but the layout looks wonderful, and I'm loving the artwork.

Thanks for the comments about my interview. My house is definitely chaotic! And we do have 2 of every age, lol, so that Noah's Ark thing kinda fits.

Confession time. I've never actually bothered to read WBQ before. Yeah I know, I'm a bad monkey.

Downloaded this one and I have to say I'm mightilly impressed. Professional looking, great content (from what I've read) and larger than I expected. Where do you people find the time?

Just wanted to say well done to all involved. I can honestly say it's the greatest issue of WBQ I've ever read.

If at the end of it you feel compelled to read more just have a look at older issues in the issues subforum.

Excellent issue! Thank you for publishing "The Princess of Kosovo"! Thank you to everyone who nominated and voted for the story. I truly appreciate it!

Para, your story stuck in my mind more than any that I've read in a long time. It was really, really cool! I'm glad you're willing to share it!

Btw, all, I got through this a long time ago. I know I said before I hadn't finished it, lol. But I pulled it up to look something up, and I had to comment on Para's story!

It was a really good issue! I enjoyed it a lot.

You should. It's the kind of thing that touches people's hearts, and opens up people's minds.

I've been on this forum for I have no idea how long and it was only a day ago that I really became aware of this feature.

I just scanned this and it's AWESOME!

Haha!

It's a great little e-zine, I think! Now, you're truly initiated, LV.

Just popped in after about two months and saw this: again, the contributors do not fail to impress.

I was especially happy to see, however, the grammar article in this issue, mostly in relation to its dealing with gerunds in prepositional phrases -- if only rather lightly. In particular, it made relatively clear the difference between the nominal and verbal use of gerunds in this context, which is an area I see frequently of concern these days in many writers and English language students.

One way to test if a gerund is there as a gerund, and is not in fact a present participle, is to replace the gerund with a noun and see if it works. In the case provided so eloquently by B, 'After detaching...' can be altered with, 'After the detachment of...'. And, of course, in this case, it's the usage of a verbal, transitive gerund.

On a different note, I'm sad to see Karen retire from editing, but at the same time I'm sure Ms. Christensen will do well, and I look forward to future issues with her as editor.
