Amasing how Darwin ends up getting muddled up with hygiene.
At the end of the day washing hands is without a doubt the most basic form of hygiene and must be done automatically.
There is no discussion about it.

Actually, Nacia, if we're to stop the spread of some of these super-bugs (such as MRSA), hand-washing has to be done numerous times during the day (unless you were using, "At the end of the day..." like, "The bottom line is...," or, "When it's all said and done..."), in which case, carry on.

At the end of the day, I wish people would stop saying "at the end of the day."

The trouble with telling jokes is there needs to be someone on the receiving end with more than mashed potatoes for brains.

I see what you did there. Aphorism is it?
And on that note carry on is a franchise a series of british films with a taste to be desired. Google has a whole page on it.

In the evolutionary scheme of things, the strong survive. In a universe where temperatures range over millions of degrees, where pressures range from a vacuum to the compression of light itself, in a black hole; where energy radiates through space, passing through people and planets with enough power to alter DNA; it would seem that the highest evolutionary forms would be those that survive under the widest range of conditions.

That's not us. We require a precarious mix of the perfect temperature (within an infinitesimally narrow band of about 180 degrees, out of billions), just enough pressure to keep our eyeballs from popping out of our heads, but not enough to crush our organs, and we must be fed a steady stream of the proper balance of rocks and dirt, via plants and animals, while being shielded from the cosmic rays which give us life and try to kill us. We are fragile beings, indeed, and unlikely candidates for widespread distribution throughout the Universe.

Bacteria, now - there's some tough sons-a-bitches. A few cells hanging out in water so hot it would explode, were it not under the pressure of five miles of seawater above it. Absolute darkness; toxic, corrosive chemicals; no food - yet these little bastards thrive.

They're also found under the ice, buried for millions of years below glaciers miles thick, no oxygen, no light - yet they live.

They think they've spotted sign of them in meteorites.

So who's highest up the evolutionary ladder? Ourselves, whose very existence, under Darwinism, flies in the face of the law of entropy; or those simple creatures who have evolved to take what the Universe gives them, and walk away stronger?
May I say firstly that you are a moron? A life form comprising a few cells is simply not comparable with a complex lifeform comprising hundreds of thousands of cells. That aside, you display ignorance of the most basic levels of biology in your every utterance. I think you might need medical help. Good luck.

Default SJW or troll?

I will wear my heart on my sleave for the daws to peck at..

SJW to me tends to indicate someone in a position of privilege, who chooses to lecture others in an incredibly self-righteous, narcissistic and self-obsessed manner. To be clear, if you have the time or inclination to care about a mindless piece of popular culture, you are privileged, the rest of us are working. Grow up!

My abhorrence for SJW's is exactly described above. That's it.

The other day, on a music site, someone posted a video promo for guitar strings and it featured a guitarist who is transgender. Some people lost their shit, going on rants about gender identity etc.

When I reminded them we were there to talk about music and guitars and gear one of them called me an "SJW;" and the others follow suit. So that's the other side of the same knee-jerk coin...

Odd, if a fellah wants to remove his cock, that is fine, If people pretend that that makes him biologically female, they are emphatically wrong. But go for it, have fun girl!

My point was, it wasn't the place for it. It was about guitar strings; the guitarist didn't mention gender, so it was stupid to bring it up and harp on it. So yeah, I rest my case.

I have no idea what you are prattling on about. I responded, purely because your comment suggested that gender was secondary. tfft. That is how we overcome this silliness, we employ people on talent regardless of gender..

I thought Conchita winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 2014 was a sign of progress.

What a voice...what a figure...what a beard

People were spellbound and, in the main, focused on the music.

It wasn't just secondary, it was stupid to bring it up on a music site when the promo video and topic was guitar strings. A perfect occasion for people to mind their own business or perhaps run off to Facebook or elsewhere and post their banal rants about transgenders. Not too complicated...
