I think there's usually more to it than that.

We weren’t sure for the longest time until my wife brought home a library book one evening, and said: “I’ve just discovered how we keep having all these babies, and it has nothing to do with storks!”

It sounds odd, I'll grant you but that is a normal English expression - even in medical terms.

and BP: a state school in England is local, government funded education - the opposite of private school which demands a minimum fee payment of £30,000 p.a for the privilege of having your offspring buggered by priests and prefects...but at least they can name their sexual preferences in Latin.

Yeah, I had a friend here from the worst part of Liverpool. He was a thug, really. He went to public school but could speak intelligently on almost any subject and wrote beautiful letters. After putting his kids in our public schools for a few years he said one time: “Jesus, I never realized how good the schools back home were. America isn’t going to make it with shit schools like this.”

Trust had to be rebuilt, which takes time; but in the process we went to a counselor who really helped with how we communicate. Can't underestimate how much that helped.

I guess the bottom line is, as rocky as things got, we somehow stayed friends and never fell out of love and most importantly, we wanted to do what was best for our kids. So brianpatrick is right, I'm VERY lucky...

Why we decided to home school. But we decided to send them to a private school starting at 8th grade. It had to be somewhere that continued to let them learn at their own pace, and that ain't cheep. Hope it's worth it, although I often have my doubts...

I thought it had something to do with a cabbage patch. Boy were we surprised.

All are welcome

I used to have a copper mate, and without thought, I would introduce him as "my copper mate" while snorting a quart of coke. He got so annoyed

And we have, here, the ultimate test of whether Nacia is a bot, or if there actually is someone of such purity remaining in the world, out of all of us jaded motherfuckers.

And we have it! Her response falls well within the parameters of normalcy, such a rare quality here on the Beat that there should either be a reward for it, or an offer of sanctuary.

And Nacia, what Chinspinner is really saying is, while snorting a fatty at a party one night, the coppers came busting in and Chinny, always quick on his feet, gestured grandly at the interruption and intoned, "My copper friends!" before woofing down the rest of the lines on the mirror.

At which point the cops would be temporarily flummoxed, trying to figure out if they'd been slighted, giving Chinny a chance to hie it on out of there and hook up with Zamora, who's really not sure about this whole thing, is really sure his wife is sure not for this whole thing, and decides to go for it anyway because it's been however many years and Goddamnit, a man ought to be able to go out and be a man, on his own, without some pussy telling him what's good for him, once in a while.

He winds up single, because no respectable girl will put up with that shit, and it's all your fault, Nacia.

You'd think thirty minutes in the corner would have given you time to think things through, and avoid conflicts like this.

I was ahead of the epidemic, but I see people from all walks of life and across the economic spectrum who are dealing with opioid addiction.

I'm kind of past the point where I'm shocked by anything; in my circle of people who are in recovery, hardly a week goes by when I don't hear about someone ODing and dying or coming close to it.

It's gotten exponentially worse in the last few years and there's no end it sight. Makes you feel kind of helpless...

So what you’re saying is you’re a trend setter and this whole epidemic may be your fault?

Like putting a brick on the gas pedal and bailing out right before the car goes over the edge.

Such destruction from what he began.
